OVERVIEW:
This course will give non-financial
professionals awareness of and use of the language, concepts and tools
that are fundamental to understanding, evaluating and projecting the
impact of their decisions on the financial results of their group and
the corporation.
Beginning with the concept of 'true' value and the basic principles of finance and accounting, this program will develop within the participant a detailed understanding of financial reports and market valuation drivers. Application of these fundamental tools and approaches in class will allow the professional to gain facility with the process of forecasting and evaluating the financial impact of strategic and tactical decisions and options.
In addition, this program will provide professionals with the tools necessary to evaluate the financial position and solvency of organizations, suppliers and customers with which they may establish strategic alliances.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this course the participant
will have an understanding of:
· How finance and accounting drives, and is driven by, the strategic direction of the organization
· How the 'market' sees and evaluates financial results
· Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Summaries
· The interlocking relationship between Enterprise Value, Market Capitalization, and Financial Results
· The key ratios and trends that comprise 'financial analysis'
· Hands on experience at forecasting corporate results and the tradeoffs such planning entails
· The five most important 'Financial Big Ideas' in the construction and development of any company
