OVERVIEW:
This course gives participants the skills to turn conflict into opportunities to achieve positive, productive results. Participants identify their typical approaches to conflict; explore the pitfalls common to dealingth conflict in today's organizations; and, using a situation from their own work, practice the specific skills they use on the job.

OBJECTIVES:
This course will enable the participants to:

• Explain influences that are contributing to conflict in today's organizations
• Identify behavior patterns that undermine the ability to address conflict constructively
• Describe productive methods of dealing with undermining behaviors
• Distinguish between positions taken in a conflict and the underlying issues
• Use the key elements to address conflicts, facing them on the job, and seeking to understand the other person's point of view.
• Present your perspective of the problem and its impact.
• Establish mutual involvement
• Decide on an appropriate plan of action.
• Express appreciation for the other person's efforts
